The Fireweed Gallery began in 1991 as a local art gallery and custom frame shop; after thirty years we’re still supporting local artists and offering high quality custom framing! Kelly, the third owner, has steadily expanded on the Fireweed’s original offerings since purchasing the business in 2009 to bring you even more local artwork, jewelry, and handcrafted goods from Gustavus, Alaska, and surrounding areas! We know all the artists, authors, and crafters; many of them are our neighbors, and we love their work and want to share their creative talent with you.

Like a good cup of tea, the Fireweed Gallery aims to infuse your life with everything we love about living in Gustavus, even the rain! From the fine art of local legends like Carole Baker and Rie Munoz, to the Alaska-made natural shampoos and beauty products, Alaska is the focus. That special pair of earrings to dress up your favorite flannel, and the kelp or spruce tip condiments to jazz up a meal are both made locally, with Alaskan materials and ingredients, a reflection of the land we love. Even our Fireweed hoodies are designed and printed in-state.

Each unique item has been chosen to invite you to slow down, to linger, to pivot towards a more place-based, handcrafted life, and to appreciate and help sustain the beautiful land you find yourself in.
